Randy and Linda Smith created Wrap It Up Gift Shop in 2014 and it quickly became a local landmark. Because the Smiths wanted a shop that represented the community, nearly everything in their inventory is handmade from local artists. Since the building was already set up as a restaurant before they moved in, they knew they wanted to incorporate a unique eatery next door to the gift shop. Randy was so impressed after visiting Brew and Brats at Arbor Hills in Naples, NY, he decided to bring the concept to Autumn View.
In keeping with the tradition of carrying local products, everything served at Brews and Brats is locally sourced. We are featuring traditional English-style beers of LyonSmith Brewing Company, a novelty of the Finger Lakes. We are the only location on this side of Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake to serve these locally-brewed ales.
Every wine on our menu comes from grapes grown in our home state of New York. Enjoy our selection of Treleaven Wines from King Ferry Vineyards along with other wines from Bet the Farm Winery in Aurora, NY, and hard ciders from Black Diamond Cidery in Trumansburg, NY.
We have Craft Root Beer on tap and Orange Cream Soda from Warhorse Brewing Company in Geneva, NY, of Three Brothers Wineries and Estates. Their Iron Heart Root Beer is named after their Iron Heart Coffee Company.
Our bratwurst and hot-dogs come from Schrader Farms in Romulus, NY. This includes several varieties from honey mustard to garlic and onion, and a few others. Linda’s homemade German Potato Salad and Pasta Salad perfectly complement the brats and local sauerkraut! Also, the Finger Lakes Cheese Alliance comes together in one spot for you to try a huge variety of cheeses in one location. Ask our staff about pairing suggestions!
After ordering, enjoy live music when scheduled in our very own courtyard designed and built by Randy himself!
Randy became a Paramedic in 2002 and has worked in the ICU, ER, and dialysis departments. In 2013 he was nearing the end of his nursing program with plans to become a flight nurse when Randy found out he needed a knee replacement. The surgery did not go as planned and Randy was diagnosed with arthrofibrosis. After another surgery attempt, his conditioned worsened and Randy’s leg was amputated above the knee. He wore a Bluetooth equipped prosthetic leg for three years and in that time had logged in over five million steps!
For Randy, it’s all about attitude. It's what has made him push on with his business and make a great life for himself and his family. He learned that there was very little he could not do, and although ladders are a little tough, he pushes on!
Randy’s ultimate goal is to create smiles for whoever walks in the door. “Everything I do is done with high energy. There is plenty of misery out in the world, and I just want people to be able to enjoy being in the moment and take their minds off the negativity. I love seeing the smiles this place creates for everyone who visits,” says Randy.
If you ask him how he’s doing, his standard reply is, “Amazing, as always!”
